INTRODUCTION

The electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) has in the past decades been subjected to a big change of meaning and since its origin stands for a continuously growing problem. Previously, radio interferences and their suppression were the classic scope, today terms such as mains reactive effects, 50 Hz hum, surges and earth loops are linked with EMC. By EMC are meant all unwanted electromagnetic influences, which interfere or make impossible the normal operation of apparates, installations or systems. Meanwhile the EMC with its two big sections, immunity on the one hand and interference emission on the other hand, has develloped itself to a science of its own with inter-disciplinary character and includes emperic- as well as learned- and absolute special-knowledge. |
